My Take

This change in RECORDING LIMIT hits hard, especially for schools that don't have big budgets. We relied on Screencastify to make learning easier and more interactive. Now, it's like they've just shut the door on us. It's not just a minor inconvenience; it's a big roadblock for teachers and staff who need to make simple screen recordings for their students.

The way I see it, Screencastify chose cash over quality. They had a really good thing going – a tool that actually helped people. But now, it feels like they've just gone for the money, forgetting about the users who really needed them.

To sum it up, this was a bad move by Screencastify. It's not just about losing some features. They've lost touch with what made them useful to educators in the first place. I used to tell other teachers about how great Screencastify was. Not anymore. For anyone in education, especially if your budget is tight, this isn't the tool you thought it was.

How I Use It

I've got to say, I'm really upset about having to write this review. I've been using Screencastify for a long time to make videos for my classes and fellow teachers. It used to be great – record, edit, share links, or save to Google Drive. Easy. But what they've done now just doesn't make sense.

As of December 4th, 2024, you can only record 10 times. That's it. And if you think deleting old videos will help, think again. You're stuck with this limit, which is a massive problem.
