Versatile and Easy Way for Screen Capture
Screencastify worked well for recording student work or for modeling strategies in the classroom. It is easy to learn and offers students a means to record themselves in a "YouTube" style. I was surprised by the difference in the quality of work that I received using this extension compared to a live presentation. I did prepare a document with links to the tutorials for using this program and how to share the file to make it easier for students since there was an unlimited amount available from the company. I especially liked the engagement factor and ownership that was inevitable with this program.

Enables a large amount of tech integration and differentiated learning
It is such a versatile tool for teachers and students alike. It can help flip a classroom, individualize instruction, and enhance creativity. The only downside is that it can be a little glitchy, but that may be a problem on my end. It is web-based, so you may have issues with connectivity. All in all, this is a GREAT resource!

So Simple to Use and Easy to Share!
I haven't tried any assessment of student learning yet with this tool. I think it would be great if the free version of the tool allowed users to embed clickable links at the end of the video to another website (like Google Forms, for assessment). I also think it would be great if the tool could easily allow you to bookmark and label bookmarks within the video for students to be able to review later. Perhaps this is a feature that I don't know about or that is only available in the paid program. I would be okay with ads in the program if extra features were available for free.

The quickest & easiest screen recording tool available! A chrome extension that works on PC or Mac! Publish straight to YouTube/Google Drive.
There is no better tool for quickly creating screencasts. The free version allows recordings up to 10 minutes in length, but the paid version is very affordable, less than $20 a year. It is perfect for the creation of Flipped Learning videos, additional tutorials, or great instructions for your centers. You can even opt to have yourself added as a "talking head" (a picture in picture that shows your webcam as a small insert in the corner of what is shown on the screen). It is so easy to use that I have a general rule, as soon as I have to explain something a second time, I record it! How to create a table in Word? Record it! How to log in to your Google Drive? Record it. It really is that easy and, as a teacher or technology coach, it makes you look like a techno-expert.

My Favorite Screencasting Tool to Show What you Know & Flip Teaching
I use the free version and find that it works quite well for my needs. In head-to-head comparisons of several screencasting web tools and extensions, my team agreed that Screencastify worked the best. The resolution of the final product is good and the ability to save directly to Google Drive is a valuable feature that I really appreciate! Many students will record over and over until their voice-over sounds just right. By choosing the option to save to Google Drive, all projects are automatically saved to Drive as a webm file so they are easy to find and share. Screencastify allows users to record just the open tab or to navigate to other tabs in the window. The free version has limited annotation tools and allows for videos up to 10 minutes long.

Great extension that allows you to help each student
I like this free video creation tool for allowing teachers to reach their students in a different way. Students can also use this tool to show their teachers their thoughts and learning as well. This tool can help teachers to be better in tune with student learning because of the ability to see and hear their learning, for free.

Allow students to access your instruction whenever, wherever and as much as they need to!
Screencastify is a great tool that all teachers should be using. It allows my students to access my instruction as many times as they need to do. We all know that some students need to hear the instruction multiple times and by using Screencastify, they can. I can also make several differentiated videos and send them to different groups via Google Classroom. Using this resource has allowed me to better target my instruction and support students!

Create Great Instructional Videos with Screencastify!
Screencastify is a fantastic tool to use in the 21st-century classroom. Students can easily create their own screencasts and share them to YouTube or Google Drive. This provides a new sense of accountability because people around the world could view their work! I use the free version (lite version) of Screencastify in my classroom, which allows limited editing capabilities and a 10-minute recording limit. These restraints have caused NO PROBLEMS!
